Opportunities for Service & Fellowship ( Committees )

As a Congregational Church, the members of our congregation covenant with one another and with God as revealed in Jesus Christ and empowered by the Holy Spirit. All members are called to minister to others and to participate as equals in the common worship of God. Among the many opportunities for service are:

The Board of Deacons
Responsible for the spiritual life of the church. Members serve for three-year terms. Meets monthly.
The Board of Trustees
Responsible for the finances and physical assets of the church. Members serve for three-year terms. Meets monthly
The Sunday School
Offers classes for children in nursery through sixth grade at 10 AM on Sunday, September to June.
The Choir
Provides anthems and special music and leads the congregation in hymns. Rehearsal at 9 AM on Sunday. Minister of Music: Jeff Wentz.
The Scribblers Writing Group
Gives encouragement to all interested writers, both in the church and the community beyond. Meets first Monday of the month, 6:30 PM. 
The Bread & More INN Soup Kitchen
Provides nutritious dinners to those in need, Monday, Wednesday and Thursday, 5:30-6:30 PM.

Feeding the Mind ESL Program
Helps recent immigrants to learn English and assimilate into their new American culture. From November to mid-March, Monday and Thursday,
6:15-7:45 PM.
The Thrift Shop
Offers used clothing and household items. Open
Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10 AM to 2 PM, and on Saturdays from 9 AM to 1 PM.
The Ushers
Responsible for greeting worshippers, distributing bulletins, lighting the candles, passing the offering, and counting those in attendance. 
The Coffee Hour
A time of fellowship and refreshment immediately after each week's service. 
The Readers for Sunday worship
Lay readers each week lead the congregation in the responsive reading from the alter and read the lessons from the Old and New Testaments.  
The Visitation Committee
Visits and phones the shut-ins of our congregation.
