Our Mission

My house shall be called a house of prayer for all people.
Isaiah 56.7

We are an open and affirming congregation in which all persons regardless of race, ethnic background, economic status, gender, age, or personal ability, are equally affirmed into membership, leadership and employment
and joyfully welcomed.

Serving our Community

The First Congregational Church of Riverhead is a downtown church which reaches out to serve others in the community. In 1990, we established a soup kitchen (Bread & More I.N.N., affiliated with the Interfaith Nutrition Network). which serves a nutritious dinner on
Monday, Wednesday and Thursday nights, from 5:30pm to 6:30pm

From November to mid-March, an English class is offered on
Monday and Thursday nights from 6:15pm to 7:45pm.

The Alley Cat Thrift Shop is open Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10 AM to 2 PM, and on
Saturdays from 9 AM to 1 PM.

AA groups meet on Tuesdays and Fridays at 7 PM, Wednesday 8PM
and Saturdays at 8 AM, and a Men's Spanish AA meeting - Sunday 6 PM and Ladies at 8PM.

We regularly support a number of other local and national mission programs, including but not limited to:

Long Island Council of Churches
Pennies for People
The Crop Walks
UCC Special Missions Projects
